Thank you for stopping by.

This blog is now closed.

The journey continues at my new blog: Being the Magic. See you there.

Welcome

I feel like I've been studying an undergraduate course that has given me an overview of who I am. After I got my BA Hons, I decided to do a PhD and specialise in a subject that was closest to my heart - Love.

I believe my purpose is to demonstrate that Love is life; Love is truth; Love is freedom; Love is wealth; Love is the only power; Love is reality; and Love is all there is.

In this blog I shall continue to share insights, experiences and realisations as I feel inspired to in that moment. Please note that the articles I'm sharing are my perspective and not meant to instruct readers in any way. Make of them what you will.

I Would Rather Be Grateful, Thank You!

Recently for three days in a row, the Internet was down at the library where I usually post my work. The library staff said we should all complain. I said it was not my style to complain, which I believe negates the excellent service I always receive. The library staff insisted that they are supposed to provide efficient service all the time. They believed their IT department was not going to take the problems seriously unless more people complained. Someone shoved a complaint form in my hands. I took it with me and dumped it in the bin.

I have noticed companies have "suggestions" boxes and complaints forms, but I've never seen an appreciation box. I wonder why?

We seem to live in a whining society where it is believed complaining will get you the desired results. I don't believe in complaining. When I complain I'm focusing my attention on faults which manifests more of the same. Let's say I bought something that was faulty, I'll simply return it and either ask for my money back or exchange it for another product.

People perform better when they are appreciated. Focus on someone's "bad" behaviour and that's all you'll see, which doesn't give the other person room to be more. If you have nothing good to say about someone, focus on someone you have something good to say about; or say nothing.

But how is society going to improve if you don't complain or make suggestions? I know from experience that what I put my attention on is magnified. I would rather give my attention to all the good work and excellent service I receive; I also know that everyone is always doing the best they can based on beliefs and environment.

Take what is happening globally such as natural disasters, wars and attacks. Governments, religions, scientists, and the media spend so much energy focused on the worst and when it happens, governments says "We were right to warn our nationals about an attack, see it has happened!" Religion responds "We knew this would happen; it is that prophecy come true!" Scientists say "It is just as we predicted; we were right!" As for the media, well disasters are their bread and butter anyway. Of course they are all right. If you focus your energy on the worst, it happens.

Everyone has the right to complain. I would rather be grateful for all the good I am receiving, thank you very much.

With love,
Enocia

Love is the Only Cause I Support

I don't believe in supporting any causes or raising awareness for any charity. I used to but then I discovered my awareness was creating more harm than good. In other words, I was attracting more of what I was focused on. Here are a few examples:

At one time I was very interested in raising awareness about child abuse. I even went to a rally against abuse at Trafalgar Square where I shared my own experiences. It was the first time I'd ever spoken in front of so many people. Because I was so focused on raising consciousness about child abuse, all of my friends at the time were survivors of abuse. My best friend was not only a "survivor", she was a psychologist so that's all we seemed to talk about. I was very angry against men. One day I "woke up" out of that experience and realised I wasn't a survivor or a victim, I was me. My survivor friends soon melted away from my experience.

I used to wear a ribbon that represents awareness of HIV and AIDS. Then I started going to a meditation centre once a week. At the centre, I made friends with a man who was HIV+. At the same place, I met someone I ended up having a relationship with. Before we got involved in an intimate relationship, he insisted that I took an AIDS test as he had already had one done. Because I was so AIDS aware, I had no problem with the idea. In fact, I thought we were both being very sensible. Then one day I "woke up" and realised I was way too AIDS aware for my own good. So I stopped wearing the ribbon. My HIV+ friend and I lost contact and my relationship with the AIDS aware guy soon ended.

I used to support the Homeless charity. I even did some voluntary work at one of their centres one Christmas and I went on a sponsored walk to raise money for the charity. Years later I ended up homeless. I guess I was way too aware of homelessness.

Since whatever I focus my attention on is magnified, now I support only one Cause - Love. In my writings I raise awareness about the presence of peace, love, joy, life, light, abundance, goodness, happiness, perfection, wholeness and magic in every moment. That is my only focus and what motivates me.

Incidentally, my mother went to a "Daffodil Day" church service recently. When she returned home she brought me a daffodil badge. I asked if she'd got one for herself but she said she'd only picked up one and wanted me to have it. This particular daffodil badge is currently being used to promote cancer awareness. Given that I don't support that charity, I wondered why my mother had brought me the daffodil. Then I remembered that I had recently brought to her attention the fact that daffodils were already in full bloom. I even ended up writing a piece the experience. I wrote:

"Dear daffodils, your presence is very welcome. Thank you for expressing your beauty so perfectly." Daffodils

Aha! The daffodil was simply a gift of love from all daffodils acknowledging my gratitude. Thank you daffodils, I love you too.

Love is the only cause I support.

Oh, What Fun!

On the bus this morning I noticed the computerised Announcer was giving passengers the wrong destination.

I said to the woman beside me, "I hope to God this bus is not going to Ilford because that's in the opposite direction."

"Maybe, the driver doesn't know where he's going," she chuckled.

"The other day I got on a bus that said 243 in front and 123 on the side. So I asked the bus driver which was correct. He said I should ignore the number on the side."

"Sounds like the driver didn't have a clue," my friend said.

On the bendy buses passengers have to buy their tickets in advance before travelling. Sometimes people get on these buses without tickets. If you're caught without a valid ticket on these buses, you get fined on the spot. Some inspectors even report people to the Police. Now there is an announcement that comes on reminding passengers with Oyster Cards to touch in their cards on the reader. The other day, I heard an announcement that asked passengers to get their tickets ready as the ticket inspectors were getting on at the next stop to check our passes. Passengers who hadn't touched in their cards got up to do so. A few who didn't have tickets got off. At the next stop no inspectors got on. I reckon the bus driver had only put on that announcement to put the fear of God in passengers. I shared this story with my friend and we had a good laugh about it.

I noticed the Announcer on our bus was now announcing the correct destination.

"The driver must have woken up," my friend said.

It's such fun travelling by bus.

Building Works

Just recently they started building new houses where I live. As I'm not going to be living in the area when it's completed, I wondered what it was going to look like. I had a thought to look up the website to see what exactly they were building but I forgot to check.

Today, two days after wondering, two brochures dropped through the letter box from the company responsible for the building works. In the brochure were images of what the place was going to look like, which was going to include houses for students and lots of shops.

Thanks, Love, for answering my question.

Oo-er Missus!

At the library, I offered the security guard one of my Fruit Pastilles.

"See if you can suck it without chewing," I said.

As he was helping himself to one he said, "Do you like chewing or sucking?"

"I like sucking then I chew."

"I hope you're very gentle when you chew," he said.

"I am very gentle," I giggled.

I love double entendres, don't you? ;-)

As I was walking to the bus stop this morning I noticed the cutest mouse underneath a car, then it disappeared down a grate. "Hey You!" I called out to the mouse. It popped its head out of the grate, looked at me, then disappeared. What a cutie!

On the bus I picked up today's "Metro" newspaper and saw the following story.

Surfing mice become YouTube stars
Thursday, March 13, 2008

Yes, it really is a mouse on a surf board.

Four mice have become internet stars - after learning how to surf.

More than two million people have watched a YouTube clip of the rodents - called Bunsen, Harry, Curly and Chopsticks - demonstrating their skills on the waves.

Their owner Shane Willmott, a keen surfer from Queensland in Australia, made 10ins wooden boards for them to ride the waves.

He said after a few training sessions, they got the hang of surfing and even appeared to enjoy the thrill of riding the waves.

Bunsen's son, Bunsen Junior became a fifth member of the team and appears on an updated clip.

Shane said he has also started a sideline selling framed photos of the mice with copies of their surfboards to fans for £80 each.

He is also planning to make a documentary about them.

Good to see man and mice enjoying surfing. I reckon surfing must keep those mice squeaky clean.

I love mice!

What Do I Believe?

A reminder about what I believe:

I believe there is only the One that is infinite love, power and wisdom
I believe the One is appearing as my thoughts, feelings and all that I am being.
I believe the One quickens my body, moves me, inspires me, nourishes me, and is my constant supply.
I believe the One appearing as me is appearing as the all in all time, space and realities.
I believe the One is constantly working and never stops working.
I believe the One is my True Self.
I believe with the One nothing is impossible; and all things are possible
I believe in the One.

Every Moment is a Gift of Love

As I was walking home yesterday, I was pondering over an experience I had recently and wondered why I'd had that encounter with that individual.

"Every moment is a gift of love because there is only Love," the Inner Voice reminded me.

Of course I know this to be true.

When I arrived home I turned the television on and heard someone on the channel saying "Every moment is a gift."

OK, Universe, I get the message. :-)

I could suddenly see the gift in the experience with the individual which immediately gave me a different perspective. I decided to withdraw the article I'd written about the experience.

I am so grateful for the gifts of Love in every moment.

Song of the Day - 2

My song of the day is Let's Hear it for the Boy by Deniece Williams. I just LOVE that song. This song is also part of the Footloose soundtrack. Kevin Bacon is soooo cute in this film!

Deniece Williams - Let's Hear It for the Boy

Rusty:
My baby he don't talk sweet
He ain't got much to say
But he loves me, loves me, loves me
I know that he loves me anyway

And maybe he don't dress fine
But I don’t really mind
Because every time he pulls me near
I just want to cheer

Let's hear it for the boy
Let's give the boy a hand
Let's hear it for my baby
You know you go to understand

Whoa, maybe he's no romeo
But he's my lovin one-man show
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Let's hear it for the boy

Rusty, Ariel, Irene & Doreen
My baby may not be rich
He's watching every dime
But he loves me loves me loves
We always have a real good time

And maybe he sings off key
But that’s alright by me
Because what he does he does so well
Makes me wanna yell

Lets hear it for the boy
Lets give the boy a hand
Lets hear it for my baby
You know you go to understand

Maybe he’s no romeo
But he’s my lovin one man show
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Lets hear it for the boy

Maybe he’s no casanova
Still his kisses knock me ov-ah

Hear it for the boy
Lets give the boy a hand
Lets hear it for my baby
You know you gotta understand

Oh, he don’t score at bowl-a-rama
Still you gotta thank his mama

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Lets hear it for the boy
Hear it for my man
Let's hear it for my baby

Making the Inner and Outer One

"When you make the two one, and when you make the inner as the outer and the outer as the inner and the above as the below, and when you make the male and the female into a single one, so that the male will not be male and the female not be female, when you make eyes in the place of an eye, and a hand in the place of a hand, and a foot in the place of a foot, and an image in the place of an image, then shall you enter the Kingdom." (Gospel of Thomas)

One of the reasons why I love the American comedy, Sex and the City, is because the girls remind me of how I used to be in past relationships. No, not their sexual antics, I wish; I used to spend hours analysing my relationships with my girlfriends. I believed men and women were from different planets and couldn't understand one another. My girlfriends and I would come up with various reasons why a boyfriend was behaving in a particular way. I would analyse my relationship to death. In hindsight, the signs were always there and oh, so simple: he just wasn't that into me. Hehehe!

If you are someone who is playing the game of being a woman, you might see men as a different species that don't understand the female of the species, and need help decoding men's behaviour; and vice versa. You might even see men as the enemy in a patriarchal society depriving women of their freedom. If you are someone who identifies yourself as a particular sexuality, you might see others of a different sexuality as not being able to empathise with you. There are infinite ways to express insanity.

The bottom line is it is all about communication, learning to speak one another's language. Over the years I've been on various personal development courses to learn how to communicate and be in rapport with other people. Because I was playing the game of being human, I found these courses to be of immense value. I reckon it would be so much easier, and cheaper, if we had a Universal Translator as they do in Star Trek. Sigh.

Back to the topic in hand. The spiritual path for me is making everything Spirit. How can this be achieved? By realising that there is only One within and without. The One within is Essence, the creative power and intelligence that is always seeking to express Self. The One within is me, you, the cat, the dog, everything in its purest state of Love.

All is the One. What we experience as the material universe is the One without. Right now, the One within i.e. the world that we are all experiencing without does not quite match the One within; if they did match, the world wouldn't be in the state it is now. Why is that?

Ask the One within why you are in pain and His response is "I am wholeness." This kind of response is madness to the human. "What do you mean I am whole. Can't you see I am in agony here?" Ask the One within how to meet your needs and the response is "I am Abundance" or "All is yours." Again, this kind of answer is baffling to the human. Is it possible that the human and the One within are speaking two different languages? Is the human from Mars and the One within from Venus, as John Gray would put it? Hahaha.

The One within is the same One expressing without, or rather it should be the same. The human without is not living as the One within because of break down in communication and misperception. When the human self is in agony and the One within tells him he is already whole, he doesn't realise he is the Voice within giving himself counsel. As far as the human self is concerned, the One within is from another planet, Venus.

The human self has bought into the idea of an ego self, preventing him from being who he is. There is no ego, carnal or mortal mind keeping one imprisoned in the human realm. There is only one Self. You are that Self. You made the decision to have a human life so you can make your inner world the same as the human. In other words, you are here to make heaven and earth one.

In order to experience "heaven and earth as one" as a tangible form, the within and the without have to be in synchrony. They have to be speaking the same language. There is one way to speak the One within's language: agree with Him. It is that simple. If you the human self is in pain and you call upon the One within for assistance and you hear "I am Wholeness," agree. You could thank the You within. You could acknowledge the truth that you are already whole. Or you could say, "Yes dear, whatever you say dear." (smile) Ignore the sensations without and keep trusting in the truth of who you are. Don’t even think of falling back on your old human ways. Do nothing, just observe as you are made whole, as if by magic.

The human self can be a tough cookie. Believe me, I know. But there have been many times when I have asked for help and been given a vision or words of counsel, trusted and witnessed its manifestation. For instance, for years I had this nagging knee pain that made it painful to walk. I must have tried all the therapies known to man. I finally prayed to God. (I wasn't aware that there was only One at the time). I was shown an image of myself running. It was difficult for me to believe but I accepted it. I stopped all therapies. The time soon came when I ran for a bus and I saw the fulfilment of that vision.

How does one know when one is speaking to the One within? The One within always wants what is best for you. He doesn’t judge you. He wants you to be fulfilled and live joyfully. Who do you think gave you the desire in the first place? You, of course. So the outer you/human self has to align yourself with the inner You.

In Jesus' teachings, we see evidence of the inner and outer Self merging as one. Jesus refers to the inner Self as Father, and the outer Self as Son.

"The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel." (John 5: 19-20)

"I and my Father are one." (John 10: 30)

"And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me." (John 12: 45)

"He that hath seen me hath seen the Father." (John 14: 9)

As you can see Jesus knows that he and the Father are one and the same. The problem arose when people interpreted the Father to mean the Almighty God that is out there; and humans as sons and daughters of God. When you see yourself as the son of God you are separating yourself from yourself.

The analogy of Father and Son is a useful model but can be misconstrued. I prefer to see reality as the One God within and without. The One within is expressed as the One without on its own terms. The One without can do nothing; the works are always carried out by the One within. The One without is evidence of the One within. But when the One without/human forgets he is the same as the One within, he bows down to worship himself. By all means, worship the One within if that rocks your world. Never forget that the One you are worshipping is You.

So you have now realised that the One within is you. You now listen to Yourself and ensure that you are always in harmony. What happens is that the world you live in, be it earth or wherever in the galaxy, now acts in the same way as your inner world. Nature is obedient to you because nature is the outer You. You can now expect the whole universe to be in harmony with you because the outer universe is You.

A funny thing happened the other day on a bus journey. I was dreaming up a joke involving a dog. The moment I thought of "dog" a dog barked. I turned round to see a dog sitting a few seats behind. He obviously caught the thought and responded. It made me chuckle to myself.

There is only one Self within and without. He is You. You just need to speak the same language.

With Love,
Enocia

Expecting a Cat to Behave Like a Dog

Recently I had a discussion with a friend, who is already married, about relationships. He asked me what kind of man I was looking for. I said I expected him to be like the One Self who is accepting of all experiences, non-judgmental, and always there. I asked him if he thought I could find a human who is like God. He said I was expecting a cat to behave like a dog.

I thought his analogy was very funny and so true. While there are exceptions to every rule, the collective cat consciousness or nature is totally different from that of a dog's.

In the same way, you can't expect humans to go against their nature. Human nature is about evolving through learning life lessons. Humans love to share ideas and knowledge, and they have unlimited ideas, but to expect humans to give without expecting anything in return is like expecting a cat to bark. Even those who give for the sake of giving say they get back joy, love, pleasure, or altruism. To justify having a reason to give, humans have even made up a God who gives because it is His pleasure to give. My understanding of God is that He has no feelings, thoughts, or concepts so how can this God feel pleasure? The God that feels pleasure is a human construct.

Humans are capable of immeasurable acts of kindness (according to human standards and beliefs) on the one hand, while creating and experiencing lots of pain and suffering on the other. This is because it is their nature to war against themselves, regarding some experiences as good and others as evil. Is it any surprising humanity hasn't achieved lasting peace when he is constantly warring against himself in one form or another? It's no use pointing a finger at terrorists for killing "innocent" people when you have a war going on within yourself. Terrorism is only self-warring on a larger scale.

There is also no point trying to make humans into something that is totally against their nature. Trying to change humans is like watching a particular channel on television and wanting it to be different.

You're watching a geographical channel but you want to see movies.
You're watching a movie channel but you want to see documentaries.
You're watching a religious channel but you want to see sex.
You're watching a shopping channel but you want to see comedy though, admittedly, some of the products could pass off as comedy. (smile)

I have had some days when I’ve felt pissed off and judgmental, then I feel bad for feeling that way because I think I am way above such pettiness. I then try to change my inner state by thinking up jokes or something to cheer myself up but I still feel pissed off. It is then I realise I am listening to the human channel, which is perfect as it is.

Instead of trying to change humans just accept humanity as it is, a different channel. Accept that humanity is doing the best He can and getting better and better. Then simply switch channels to the real Self that is formless Spirit, the One in all.

As you focus on being the real You, you realise the futility of trying to change humans. You realise that humanity is an aspect of being, a paradigm, but not the real Self. You find that you now experience the world in a different way. You then understand that as your real Self you give because it is your nature not because Self feels any pleasure or joy in giving. Those who live predominantly in the human paradigm might think you've lost the plot as your ideas are so way out, but you are what you are - you are Awareness.

You can't be human and Spirit at the same time. You can't expect a channel to show two programmes at once. If you want to experience humanity then be a human; if you choose to be your real Self then be yourSelf. The spiritual path is about making a choice to be.

Stop trying to change humans; stop expecting a cat to behave like a dog.

Switching channels.

Being the Sky - A Reminder

My True Self, Love-Light, is like the vast and boundless sky. The sky doesn't judge; the sky simply accepts all that I am.

In order for me to be the sky at all times, I have to remember that my nature is the sky.

There have been times when I have been distracted by the clouds which appear to have hidden the beauty and majesty of the sky. When that has occurred, I haven't beaten myself up about it, nor have I blamed the clouds for being what they are. I have simply remembered who I am as the sky and risen above the clouds.

I am the Sky.

Living on Love

"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John 6: 63

Can one live on love?

Well, the sceptics might say love is not enough.

You have to be practical about life, you know.
Love cannot put food on the table.
Love can't make you feel better when you're not feeling well.
Love can't protect you.

Well, I beg to differ.

Every day I hear people wishing each other well:

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night!
Good day!
Have a nice/lovely day!
Take care!
Cheers!
Look after yourself!
Mind how you go!
All the very best!
Take it easy!
Good luck!
Be lucky!
Be happy!
Be kind to yourself!
Namaste!
Salam Alaikum!
God bless you!
Peace be with you!
Hare Krishna
Om Namah Shivaya!
My thoughts are with you!
You're an angel!
You're a star!
You're a joy!
You're beautiful!
Thank you!
I love you!

These are not just nice words intended to make me feel good for a moment. I see these words rather like a product label which claims to do exactly what the label states, if you believe it does. So when someone wishes me a good day, I see that wish as my guardian angel whose purpose is to make me have a good day and take care of my needs.

Even if a wish is simply a smile, then that smile is transformed into an angel whose purpose is to uplift me.

I can always send myself good wishes and they will work just as well.

Every moment of every single day I am living on Love.

On Being a Flirt

In last night episode of America's Next Top Model, the host, Tyra Banks was teaching the prospective models how to flirt with the camera. She encouraged the girls to treat the cameras like their boyfriends or partners.

I could relate to this. I see the world as a reflection of My Beloved, my ONE True Love, which I'm constantly flirting with. While I'm flirting, I see the same look of love of my Beloved in people's eyes.

On the bus this morning, this elderly-looking woman got on. She had this radiant smile. I was also stuck by the beauty of her eyes, which were so blue, I couldn't help but fall in love with her. She sat opposite me. She said she'd been running for the bus.

"Thank God, I could run for the bus," she said.
"Thank God, you were able to get out of bed," I grinned.
"Yes, thank God."
"And thank God for such a lovely day," I said.
"It's a lot better compared to yesterday, innit?" she said. "Yesterday was so windy."

As the bus drove off, the lady pointed a shop where she said she'd bought her hat. She said she used to work in a shop round the corner for 40 years. I thought that was amazing. The longest I've ever been in a job was 18 months and that felt like eternity.

My friend also pointed another shop where she said she'd worked for 15 years. She said she still visits her former colleagues who still work there. She asked me if I was on my way to college, which made me chuckle. I must have the perennial look of a student.

As we chatted, I told the lady how beautiful her eyes were. She said people are always commenting on her eyes.

"I met a man the other day who said, 'Why are you staring at me with those eyes?'"

"You should have said to him, 'Why are you staring at me with yours?'"

We both giggled.

My friend and I continued chatting. I asked her if she'd ever been married. She said she was and had seven kids, seven grandkids and great-grandchildren though she wasn't too sure how many great-grandchildren she had. She said I had reminded her to buy some birthday cards. She usually buys the cards and gets her kids to post them on her behalf.

My friend said she was on her way to a shoe shop in Elephant and Castle, which has good leather shoes but costs half the price of normal shops. She recommended that I check it out sometime.

As I was getting off the bus, my friend said, "Mind how you go!" Just at that moment the bus lurched forward which could have sent me flying but something held me upright. I had a feeling my friend's good wish had protected me.

It was such fun flirting with my friend.

Being a Parent

I have a ritual every morning when I look at myself in the mirror and say "Hello beautiful! I love you!"

It really doesn't matter how I'm feeling, it's just wonderful to know that I am always there for myself, regardless.

Richard Bandler, co-founder of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), once said: "It's never too late to have a happy childhood." Now I know what that feels like. I am the mother-father I have always wished for.

You are beautiful and perfect in every way.
I am always here for you, Enocia.
I support you in all you do.
I love you.

Conviction

I once heard a story about Mary Baker Eddy, founder of The Church of Christ, Scientist. Mrs Eddy used to perform many healing miracles, even raising the dead. When one of her students asked her how she performed the works that she did, Mrs Eddy replied that when the student believes what she says, she can perform the same works.

Mrs Eddy had conviction. She believed in what she said and her words came to life. She also proved there was a scientific principle behind healing which could not only be demonstrated but can be shared, which she did in Science and Health with Keys to the Scriptures. Many people have been able to experience healings through following her teaching because they believed.

I'm reminded of the following passage in the Bible when Jesus says:

Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11: 22-23

As I see it, conviction goes beyond mere belief. There's no point blindly following someone who has achieved such and such if I can't demonstrate that truth in my own experience. I have to know without a shadow of a doubt that what I think or believe is true. So while I've studied religious texts and scriptures, I have found it important to explore what God/Love means for me. That's why I don't follow any religion or spiritual discipline.

Conviction is also about trusting in my own path, even when others think I'm mad. Conviction is being able to accept who I am no matter what.

In my blogs, I am sharing my conviction, which are not meant to instruct or convince anyone in any way. I hope I'm able to inspire readers to trust in their own conviction.

I believe in Love.
I believe in Me.

Timing

During an email exchange I had with an American friend recently, I mentioned a British comedy I used to love called 'Allo 'Allo, which is set in a French cafe during World War II. The comedy takes the Mickey out of the Gestapos, the Italians, the English and the French. It was hilarious!

I've just read in today's Metro that 'Allo 'Allo is being broadcast in Germany for the first time. It got me thinking about timing.

I happen to be a huge fan of comedy, well my kind of humour. From what I've observed, comedy has a lot to do with timing. The way the comedy material is delivered has to be spot on otherwise the humour won't work.

Timing also has to do with demand for a particular comedy. If the audience is not open to that kind of humour, then this means the timing is simply not right. I believe the reason why 'Allo 'Allo was so successful in the UK was because it was produced during the backlash against 1980s political correctness. People were sick of being told what to say and think and this comedy was simply perfect.

I find there are some comedies that work well in their time but when I watch them again they just seem dull and ordinary. There are only a few comedies that make me laugh time and time again.

It seems to me that the media bosses have decided the time is now right for this comedy to be broadcast in Germany. Whether the humour goes down well remains to be seen.

Life is like a comedy. The timing has to be perfect otherwise it's not going to go down too well.

Helplessness

The other night I watched a documentary about two girls who were abducted eight years ago. At the time they were ten years old. One of girl's father described what he was going through at the time. He said the police asked him to let go as they were on the case, but he felt so helpless. After being away for about four days, the girls were rescued.

I'm sure many people can relate to the father's helplessness. Most people have been programmed to be in control and depend on no one. To be dependent means you haven't got any sense of dignity. Where is your pride?

In Remember Love I wrote that I was here to demonstrate Love as my only supply. This means letting go of pride, becoming like a child, and depending on God to meet all my needs; and I mean everything. I pray to Love first and trust in Love to appear as the equivalent form. Every day I wake up grateful for the day ahead and all of Love's infinite blessings. And I take nothing for granted.

So yes, I have to admit, I am very weak. There is no room for me and Love; there is only Love. Where there is only Love, life is filled with wonder, joy, and miracles.

Thank God for helplessness!
